We are in the middle of planning & organizing for the new school year and I realized that we did not even tell about our letters M & X. I think we did these back in…MAY!
Since we were nearing the end of the school year, we kept it very simple and had fun.
~ M is for markers~
~ X is for xylophone~
~ M is for music~
~Clapping a rhythm and the remnants of a painting session~
~Making music with some instruments (and a little more paint…we love our paint!)~
~We even made some of our musical instruments.~
~Here comes the marching band!~
~ M is for motion~
Ok, so I didn’t use the word “motion” with Little Brother but he gave me some blog photo ops and he learned a little science too.

~ M is for movie day~
One day, we popped a bowl of popcorn, got comfy, and watched a movie.
~The big kids joined us too!~
~M is for Memorial Day Weekend~
I’d really love to edit out my double chin but I don’t have photoshop. ;) So please focus on my Sunshine beauty instead. :)
We still have two letters left to do – the letters O & Y. We will finish those up so she can put them on her alphabet wall and see all that she has learned this year!
Plans for Preschool 2010 – 2011
I really wanted to write our own preschool curriculum this year. However, I realized that I really don’t have the time to do it. So here are my plans for the year.~
Letter & Character Curriculum at Hubbard’s Cupboard (free curriculum)
Begin reading (if she is ready) with The Ordinary Parent’s Guide to Teaching Reading
Math Ideas from Hubbard’s Cupboard
This past year we did an alphabet wall to display her letters. However, this year we are going to do a scrapbook. I’m thinking…
My memories of my letters, numbers, and me
Or something like that!
I love the new look!
ReplyDeleteI can understand not having the time to write your own curriculum. For years I put my own things together but now just don't have the time or energy. I need something laid out right now in my life so we ordered My Father's World for Hope.
Looks as if you have a great plan for preschool this year! I love FAIR and get many ideas for book projects from them.
Cute photos!
ReplyDeleteYour children are adorable!!!
Love the blue background.
Love that you are in the picture with your sunshine.
Love that the photo of your living room and movie day. I can totally relate to watching TV together and eating popcorn. Its one of our FAVORITE things to do.
You are inspiring for me to do pre-school stuff with my little one this year.
THANKS!
Have a great weekend!
Lecia ~ Thanks! I am planning on MFW for my older children this year. I too need something all laid out for me. I just am having a hard time pulling it all together by myself anymore! I love to write curriculum. Actually I did it in college and it was probably one of my favorite things to do. But now I have too much going on. Life changes. :)
ReplyDeleteAmanda ~ Thank you! I'm still playing with this background. I like to keep it simple around here but still have much tweaking to do. And I totally did not want to post that picture of us but she looked so cute. I will state that we were camping and had been outside all day so that's why I look a bit windblown and sunburned! Hope you have a good weekend too!
Hi Adriane,
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute blog you have! Your children are adorable! I have 2 girls and we enjoy lots of activities and crafting as well! I've always thought about homeschooling. I do with my preschooler, and I did with my other daughter until she started school. I use to teach before becoming a stay at home Mom. It's so wonderful watching them learn, and it's so great to find other Moms that enjoy this too! Hope you have a great day!
Blessings, Jill
