Our Family

Hello!  My name is Adriane and I am the mom of The Little White House on Pennsylvania Avenue.  Our family of seven and a super-sized cat actually live in a little white house on...you guessed it...Pennsylvania Avenue.  Only our white house is in the deep south.  Living in a small house can have its challenges so I sometimes write about our overcoming space situations.  We are a homeschooling family and have been living a homeschool lifestyle for six years.  We love preschoolers and toddlers in our home too.   You may notice in the picture above that I left the clothes basket in the background.  That's because I'm a busy mom and I believe in keeping it real in the Little White House.

Let me introduce you to David, the white house dad.  We have been married for over 14 years.  David is a pretty quiet guy but he is great guy and a fantastic father.  He and I have a dream of owning some acreage in the country one day where we hope to have a farm.  We figured it best to "bloom where we are planted" so instead of waiting to live a homesteading lifestyle once we get our country home, we are taking small steps towards our dreams right here in the city.  We love to garden and are talking about getting some chickens in the spring.  The kids really want some rabbits too...  We are on a journey towards living simply and living frugally
This year is a year of giving thanks for me.  I'm making it a priority to praise God for His many blessings in my life as I grow closer to Him

Speaking of God's blessings, let me introduce you to my five wonderful blessings from Him.
Our oldest son is Bryce who is about to be a teenager.  Grant is our second oldest son.  They are 110% boys and on occassion they will write about it on their blog

Our older daughter is Flower Girl on this blog and our younger daughter is Sunshine Girl.  Flower Girl is a lover of nature while Sunshine Girl loves her preschool

Our youngest child is Baby Boy.  He is a joy in our life and keeps me on my toes.  You will read about him and the others when I write about kid stuff and our family

We are so glad that you are here to visit us and we look forward to getting to know you more!
