FOR TODAY September 28, 2009
Outside my window... sunshine after 2 weeks of rain. I’m keeping my eyes on the white ash tree out front that turns a beautiful yellow in the autumn.
I am thinking... how excited I am to finally participate in this daybook. I’ve always enjoyed reading others and have looked forward to doing it myself.
I am thankful for... God’s great timing. My husband was offered a job today after being laid off in July. Our last severance payment is this Friday. Perfect timing.
From the learning rooms... changing some of our routines and they seem to be working for us. Looking forward to next week off as we try a new “6 weeks on/1 week off” schedule.
From the kitchen... homemade chicken soup to help me get over this cold. Also some serious budget cutting going on in the kitchen to help us fit into our new income.
I am wearing... well…ok… yoga pants, an old yellow t-shirt and my hoodie jacket. I’m nursing a cold and just don’t feel like dressing up right now.
I am creating... a new prayer journal to fill with verses from my study of Me, Myself, and Lies by Jennifer Rothschild. I’m also hoping to work on some fall craft projects soon.
I am going... out to the country tomorrow. My husband and I have been dreaming for a while of moving to the country but we are still here in the city. I love going out there when I get a chance.
I am reading... Me, Myself, and Lies by Jennifer Rothschild for my Discipleship Training class and A Survivor’s Guide to Home Schooling by Luanne Shackelford & Susan White. I checked it out of the library and had forgotten that I had all ready read it but it has some great advice so I’m refreshing my mind!
I am hoping... (and praying) that we can make this new budget work for our large family.
I am hearing... some crows cawing outside because the house is quiet! Dave took the kids with him for the girls’ gymnastics classes.
Around the house... planning out next week when we take a week off from school. I plan to switch out summer/winter clothing and deep clean a few things.
One of my favorite things... belly laughs from a one year old boy
A few plans for the rest of the week: time in the country getting things ready for hunting season, church choir, 4-H meeting, Boy Scout camp out, grocery shopping.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
A picture of my oldest son and younger daughter. I love how proud he is to have caught that (itty bitty) fish and the look of uncertainness on hers!
