Gingerbread houses ~

DSCN7523

This week, we made gingerbread houses.  In the past, we have bought the kits and then we fought over shared the kit amongst the kids.  You can imagine how that went over.

We found out last year that is was much easier to make our gingerbread houses out of graham crackers and homemade icing.  (recipe at the end)

I tried to help Baby Boy with his house but he had more fun seeing it fall!  He was so proud of the house he worked on though.  It was the first thing he showed his Daddy when he walked into the house.

What’s really funny about the houses is that they show the personalities of my children.  Each house speaks to the creator of it.

I smile when I see these gingerbread house!

We had a lot of fun making our gingerbread houses.  I didn’t even mind cleaning up the mess afterwards…

  2. It definitely is cheaper than buying those kits for everyone. And they enjoy it more because it is their own. We look forward to gingerbread house day every year.

  5. Love these little houses and the personalities they show! I am getting a tummy ache just looking at all that candy though, lol. :) I've thought about using graham crackers for this, and I'm glad to see that it works pretty well. I think we'll do this next year. The kits are a bit overrated, I think.

I just wanted to stop by and wish you a Merry Christmas, Adriane. I feel like I haven't commented in a while - just so busy, busy, busy - but I always love reading what you've written here. Blessings to you and your sweet family in the new year!!
