Snow is rare here in the deep south. Last year, we had a snow and it was the first snow that our family had seen in nine years! For us to get snow two years in a row is pretty much a miracle in my book!
We awoke Sunday morning to sleet and cold rain. Of course for us in the deep south, this meant that businesses started to close. We aren’t equipped down here for driving in cold weather conditions. {smile}
That afternoon as we snuggled down with the littles for a cold, rainy day nap, one of the older boys came to tell us that it was snowing. Imagine our surprise when we looked out the window! We only got a dusting but it was enough to thrill these children of mine for whom snow is an enchanting rarity.
Plenty of snowballs were made and thrown. Little hands were cold because mittens & gloves are always missing when you need them. (And always there when you don’t!) The children were laughing and having a blast!
There’s even a large snowball in our freezer as evidence that we had snow in January 2011!
We finished off our snow-filled day with some edible snowflakes.
Are you enjoying snow in your neck of the woods?
