We planted one cherry tomato bush.
Only one.
That little cherry tomato bush has given us so many tomatoes that we eat cherry tomatoes for
Breakfast
Lunch
and
dinner
I’m not complaining (at all) but I got to thinking about that one little cherry tomato bush.
It’s working hard to supply food for our family.
It spends its days in the hot sun making food.
It is productive.
Very productive.
And its fruit is good.
I want to be just like that cherry tomato bush.
I want to spend my days working hard to serve my family.
I want my work to be productive.
Some days the work is hard and I just want to sit down and rest all day.
Days of rest are good and God’s Word tells us to take our day of rest each week.
But I feel called to work…called to serve as a mother to my children and keeper of our home.
Some days I wake up and I wonder how in the world I am going to make it through my day’s to-do list.
On those days, I usually pull out my Bible and open up to Proverbs 31, verses 10 – 31.
The woman described in that passage is definitely one productive woman.
Most of the time, that is just the inspiration that I need to help me get up & get going in a job {a ministry} that can be seen as so mundane and so monotonous.
I take it back…instead of the cherry tomato bush, I want to be like the Proverbs 31 woman.
On that note, I’m off for the weekend to be productive for our family and to rest some too.
Have a blessed weekend!
*A note about commenting on my blog.
Due to some readers having trouble commenting, I started using Disqus for a commenting forum. The problem with Disqus is that I can’t visit the blog of the commenter unless they enter their blog address. I really do try to visit the blogs of all who stop by here so if you can, please enter your blog address unless I all ready visit you. Or maybe type your blog name in your comment so I can find you too. I’ve been a little frustrated that I can’t return the favor of visiting your blogs also. Thanks!
I love all the pictures!
