Weight ~ 181 (started at 196)
Well, I did not lose any weight last week but I didn’t really do what I needed to do to lose weight. I did make some changes but didn’t stick to them consistently, which is the key. I won’t even offer any of my excuses like getting kids ready for camp, rearranging/organizing house, holiday, or any of those other excuses that I have. ~smile~
This week has started off much better so I anticipate a better result next week.
Some things that I did learn this week:
- I love tracking my food through My Fitness Pal. When you find a food, it tells you the calories and how many grams of carbs, proteins, and fat. I found out that I eat and drink a lot of carbs. Tracking your food is an eye-opener, for sure.
- I need to move more. I have to purposefully make room in my schedule for exercise. I did not do that last week but did count some of my gardening and swimming with kids in my exercise.
- When you log in your exercise on My Fitness Pal, it calculates the calories you’ve “earned”. My gardening earns me about 160 extra calories for every 30 minutes of work.
- I can not have Coke in the house. If it is here, I will drink it. I am so weak when it comes to the soda.
Today is going well though I am a bit hungry right now and have that caffeine withdrawal headache going on…but this too shall pass.
I’m repeating last week’s goals. I’m going to work at it until I get it right!

Thanks for the encouragement in comments and emails. Your words of support mean so much to me. I really do appreciate it!
You are beautiful, lady! Look at that hair!!
ReplyDeleteThe thing about this post that sticks out at me is your mention of weakness towards soda. And that headache. Ohhhh, the headache.
I TOTALLY understand. As Amanda (Homegrown and Beeyoutiful) and Lecia (Cultivating Hope) can tell you, I take coffee like air. It is rare to see me without a cuppa. When I was in my last weeks of pregnancy this last time, my iron dropped. Alot. Long story short, (versus my standard short story long, lol) I came to a point where I was drinking chlorophyll (GAG ME!), straight-up blackstrap molasses, eating liver, for pete's sake!! It came to a point where the midwife called into question her comfort at attending my birth, for real fear of hemmoraging. A couple more steps needed to be made, before the final call on my homebirth. One of those?
Stop drinking coffee. Not, drink it 2 hours between an iron dose. Stop.
No. More. Coffee.
And I did it, but ooooooooohhhhh, the headaches. I was rendered useless for days. But my iron reached crazy good levels and Adaleide was born at home!
So that was a short story long...the point being that this nasty weakness will be under your thumb in no time, those headaches a thing of the past, and you will be so much the stronger!
But remember, you sweet woman, you are beautiful right now, from the inside out!
ditto sally.
ReplyDeleteand to add this.
Once you get past that large hump, it WILL become easy peasy for you. like you say, don't bring coke in the house and you will be fine:)
Awww, Sally. You are so sweet. Thank you for the encouragement. This old soda has a stronghold on me. (I've let it have that stronghold.) I know when this is broken that I'll be able to get the rest of this weight loss thing done. The headaches are something else but usually after a few days, I've been told, they are gone. And then the cravings for Coke go away. For me, it's the getting through the three days without caving in to the Cokes. I'll get there. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Amanda. You're right...once past this hump, the rest will be easy. Getting there...slowly...but getting there. :)
