Monday Miscellaneous

If it’s been a little quiet around the blog, it’s because I’ve been in the middle of this:

That’s right!  We’ve been getting ready for a new school year around here.

Originally the plan was to start school on August 1st but I’m pretty sure that we will not be operational by that date.  Now our start date has been pushed back to August 15th.

Evan is loving his new birthday bike.  And he loves his new dinosaur birthday gifts from Aunt Pat.

Last night in church, we had a baptismal service.  Right before the pastor was going to start baptizing, a very loud clap of thunder sounded.  To which Evan very loudly exclaimed,

“That was a big one!”

My baby boy cracked up the congregation of the church like he makes me laugh everyday…such a sweet and fun blessing, my baby boy.

So back to the bike…

Evan loves his bike and he loves to ride it around the community.  I, of course, have to follow him to keep him safe.  One day of flip flops (see above) and I realized that tennis shoes were a must for chasing Evan around on his bike.

Upon following him around the community, I found out that I needed to jog to keep up with him.

Then I realized that I actually like to jog!

I never ever thought that I’d utter those words.

And that leads to my weight loss update (sorry, no picture.)

I keep forgetting to weigh myself first thing in the morning and when I finally remember, it is always after I’ve had breakfast and have been drinking a few cups of coffee and water.

The scale says 182 pounds which I believe is probably more like 181 pounds since I’ve eaten a meal before weighing.   (reaching a little bit there, huh?)

The scale doesn’t show a lot of difference but my clothes do.  It seems like my clothes are getting bigger!  So something is happening.  More on that later.

We finally enjoyed the watermelons that we have been watching grow all summer long.  Honestly, they were the best watermelons we’ve ever had! (Doesn’t she look thrilled that I snapped her picture the moment her mouth was full?)

July 19, 2011 009

I don’t know if they were so good because we’ve been anticipating them for months or if it was because they were super fresh but watermelons will definitely be found in our garden every summer.

There you go…totally random facts from the Little White House!

I hope you have a blessed week!

  3. It does get easier once the baby settles into a routine, doesn't it? :) I'm almost done organizing the school materials. (I've been purging like a mad woman!) Then I'm on to the fun stuff - planning the year and get the school area all cutesy! I can't wait for school to start too. I love the routine and order it brings to my home. :)
