A Real Look at Life in a White House on Pennsylvania Avenue

What girl doesn't dream of the romantic white cottage with the white picket fence and arbors of trailing roses? Of course, it has to be viewed in the hazy dream-like fog as seen in greeting cards. This same girl would spend her days tending to her flower gardens and always wearing beautiful, flowing clothing.

Now for reality...

This girl lives in a white house with a chain linked fence and the arbor that held wisteria was torn down because it was used as a ladder. Everywhere she looks, it is hazy, like she's looking through a dream-like fog because the baby grabbed her glasses when she was trying to get him to release her hair from his death grip. She spends her day tending to five children and her clothes usually have the splatterings of someone's peanut butter face kisses.

It's not what she dreamed but she loves it and wouldn't trade it for the world.

The five little faces that smother me daily with kisses.
